El Metro is not only a restaurant - it’s a corner of Spain in Fulham. The moment you step in you are transported to Spain. The food, the live music, the ambience and the unique terrace are all part of its magic.

We serve a combination of tapas, traditional Spanish dishes and all-time favourite handmade gourmet burgers and pasta for the younger crowd. There’s sure to be something for everyone!

History

El Metro opened in the Summer of 1989 and is one of the longest standing restaurants in Fulham. Fun fact: it was one of the first ever restaurants in London to have outdoor seating, which was unheard of in the 80’s (and required a court hearing !)

Our owner, Oscar, has been in the food industry for over 40 years, working his way up in kitchens and restaurants all over the world. In the 80’s he managed a chain of 40 restaurants in South Africa, before coming to London and starting El Metro.

El Metro (which translates to English as 'The Subway') gets its name from the District Line tube, which runs directly underneath the restaurant. Our logo is a play on the Madrid metro logo and is an ode to both our Spanish theme and London roots!
